Take time on your essay. This is your best way to communicate with the Admissions Committee who you are beyond the courses you’ve taken and the activities you’ve been a part of. This is the first thing your Admissions Counselor will review as they try to get to know you. Be sure to make the most of your introduction.
Ask your School or College Counselor to send your official high school transcript to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or upload through your application or Slate.org.
Please provide one letter of recommendation from either your counselor or a teacher.

Why Choose Early Decision? Namely, to have first-choice in everything at High Point University–dorm selection, fall class schedule, and more!
Early Decision (Priority 1) is for applicants who rank HPU as their first choice and desire to remove the stress of the college selection process. Early Decision is a binding agreement stating that, if admitted, you will withdraw applications from all other institutions and enroll at HPU. Students who apply under the Early Decision plan receive these benefits:
Early Decision II (Priority 2) is for applicants who discover HPU after the November early deadlines and also rank HPU as their top choice. Early Decision II is a binding agreement stating that, if admitted, you will withdraw applications from all other institutions, as well as commit to and enroll at HPU. Students who apply under the Early Decision II plan will be given the same benefits as Early Decision (Priority 1) with priority right behind the ED students.
Early Action is for applicants who rank HPU as one of their top college choices. Early Action is non-binding. Students who apply under the Early Action plan receive priority consideration in the application, housing and class registration processes.
Regular Decision allows applicants who did not apply Early Decision or Early Action to submit their application by March 1st. Applications under the Regular Decision plan will be reviewed starting February 1, 2023. Applications received after March 1st will be reviewed on a space available basis.
