JiNan Glasgow George joins High Point University’s growing Access to Innovators Program list of all-star global leaders as the Intellectual Property Expert in Residence. Currently, she works with HPU’s Entrepreneurship Club and has helped secure patents and trademark applications for several students.
HIGH POINT, N.C., July 27, 2022 – High Point University welcomes another global leader to the growing Access to Innovators Program list. JiNan Glasgow George joins the all-star lineup of leaders as the Intellectual Property Expert in Residence. Currently, she works with HPU’s Entrepreneurship Club and has helped secure patents and trademark applications for several students who participated in the business plan and elevator pitch competitions over the last two years.
JiNan is an intellectual property practitioner with experience across a wide range of technology fields, serving clients in the United States and internationally. She has worked with clients in Canada, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Europe, India, Brazil, South Africa and more.
JiNan joins a long list of faculty in residence at HPU. The program at HPU connects students with industry leaders for networking and mentorship opportunities. She is the CEO and co-founder of Patent Forecast®, a business intelligence SaaS company that provides insight for investors and executives, serial entrepreneurs and innovators – giving vision ahead of market data using patent data and artificial intelligence. Her experience includes working as the former patent examiner with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
Since 2007, JiNan has been working to leverage patent information to stimulate and accelerate innovation, particularly in developing countries. She introduced the Patent Free Zone model, which is a tool for developing countries to use that incorporates cutting-edge research and technology. Additionally, she has spoken at several international conferences, including as the keynote speaker at the second Annual Forum for Venture Capital in Mexico.
Now in its ninth year, JiNan founded the Eclipse IP Futures Conference in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. This conference uniquely addresses the questions that entrepreneurs and investors have with patents as business assets, not simply legal issues. Each year, investors, entrepreneurs, executives and experts connect and create positive impact across industries through Eclipse.
JiNan’s background includes expertise in software, mechanical and electrical engineering, financial technology, biomedical devices and more. She earned degrees in engineering, law and theology from three different North Carolina-based universities.
